From the supplier: The Texas insurance department imposed an $850,000 fine on Allstate Insurance Group, after finding that the firm discriminated against single adults who wanted automobile insurance. As a result of new state insurance legislation, insurers cannot discriminate against drivers on the basis of their marital status, or whether their insurance has been canceled by another insurance company, or whether they own just one car.
