From the supplier: A coalition of insurance agents and the American Council of Life Insurance (ACLI) are filing separate lawsuits against the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to challenge its rulings concerning the expansion of bank insurance powers. The agents' coalition is suing the OCC for upholding the National Bank Act which will allow banks to sell insurance in town with a population of 5,000 or less. The ACLI is suing the OCC for its ruling in the Magna Bank case, which allows the bank to sell insurance and financial services in towns with populations larger than 5,000 people.
